Mark has handled complex litigation for a number of global corporations as well as small companies doing business in Florida and beyond. He has also handled significant premises liability and wrongful death matters. In addition, Mark is proficient in admiralty and maritime law drawing upon his prior military service in the United States Navy as a Lieutenant Commander in the Judge Advocate General's Corps where he continues to serve in a selected reserve capacity. Mark also has experience in trademark, counterfeit, business opportunity, real estate, family, unfair/deceptive trade practices and bankruptcy matters.

Mark also served as an elected official for the Town of Surfside, Florida. Elected in 2006, Mark is keenly aware of the legislative and budget process, which in addition to his legal acumen, makes Mark a well-rounded advocate for his clients - tempering zealous advocacy with the realities of litigation. Mark's business background and education with a focus in finance further enhances his ability to analyze the business aspects of litigation including complex and/or novel damage theories like business valuations.

Mark is a 1996 graduate of the Shepard Broad Law Center at Nova Southeastern University at Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Prior to this, he studied business and finance and received a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida in 1991.

Recently, Mark has tried several commercial cases, including published decisions at cases and clients. Mark has also presented at the annual Petroleum Marketing Attorneys' seminar in Washington, D.C., including the topic of A Franchisor's Right to Injunctive Relief in 2004.

Mark is also an active member of the Florida Bar. In 2005, he conducted a Symposium on military legal issues before the Military Affairs Committee of the Florida Bar following which he was selected as Chair of that committee for the period 2005-2006. Mark continues to serve the Florida Bar and the United States Armed Forces.

Mark is also a husband to his wife Dalia and father to his three young children, Joel, Allen and Eva. The son of two Cuban-born parents, Mark also speaks Spanish. He is also conversant in Italian, having practiced international law while serving over two years in Italy on active duty in the United States Navy.
